Donna Kay's is passionate about her subject matter, fish. Her juicy wet, vividly pigmented acrylics of Koi fish look as if they're about to swim off the canvas. Donna is a master Gyotaku painter who has been invited to teach workshops on this Oriental technique in the San Diego area. These paintings have an antique quality. Think of fossils in stone but full of lively color.
Donna was one of the founders of the Point Loma Artists and remains very active in the many activities of the group. She leads and organizes group shows in alternative spaces around San Diego where she and the group sell many fine art pieces.
