Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I was influenced at a young age by my grandfather who taught me how to use tools and inspired me to see the possibilities an every scrap heap! Creativity has played an important role in my life and led me to San Diego in 1981, where I earned a degree in Theatre Arts from SDSU. Largely self-taught, I pursued my passion for pottery which eventually led to my interest in mosaic work. I am thrilled to have found a way to incorporate my love of re-purposed objects into my pottery and mosaic creations. Inspired by the colors and textures found in nature, I do both indoor and outdoor (garden) mosaics and pottery. A perfectionist at heart, working with clay and glass has taught me to embrace the Japanese aesthetic of “Wabi-sabi,” in my work, learning to see the beauty of things imperfect.
